Studying Children Education from the film How to Train Your Dragon

For me, the movie How To Train Your Dragon was interesting. Not about how to train a dragon, but rather about the education of children. How come?

Most people would have to watch the movie How to Train Your Dragon in theaters, but I've watched just now in a tv cable. For me this film interesting. How To Train Your Dragon is not about how to train a dragon or nurture, but rather the point is how do the children's education.

Well how come? This point is in my opinion ..

The main character in this film, Hiccup, the son of Stoick who became head of Berk Viking tribe, considered 'wrong' since birth. Its awkward and skinny, judged not inherit the genes of his father as the strongest and most courageous Viking. The stigma attached to adolescence, consequently Hiccup never trained to face the dragon and not invited to war.

Hiccup tried to show Berk Viking tribe that he could fight the dragon, run and draw the sword when the dragon attacked his village .. but failed .. no one believes he is capable of, even his father did not believe.

Hiccup has a habit of pulling, he likes notes, draw, design and create tools based on his research. That's how Hiccup learning. He was happy to do so. It never noticed the father and resident Viking Berk, because the only survival skills that are considered essential and obligatory is up against a dragon.

The story then turns around, when Hiccup met a wounded dragon tail. Hiccup care, designing artificial tail for the dragon, and train it to fly. From the dragon, Hiccup learn how to face the fearful dragon like dragon eel, collapsed while being tickled his chin, allergic to grass and so forth. The little things about a dragon who has never known Berk Viking tribe.

The study results were used Hiccup when finally given the chance to practice against a dragon. Since then Hiccup always visible 'proficient' dragon fight at practice and even be the best in training against the dragon. Her father be proud of not playing. The father pushed Hiccup contest 'slay the dragon' first.

But what happened during the contest, Hiccup refuses to fight against the dragon. Hiccup is not happy. He wanted to show Berk Viking tribe that the dragon should be treated well. His father was angry and say shame of having a child like Hiccup.

education of children how to train your dragon talent of children 2

His father was very angry, decided to attack the dragon's lair, which contains thousands of dragons and a giant dragon. The situation became chaotic. At a critical point, Hiccup come rescue her father and Berk Viking forces were already in a position of urgency. That's when his father realized that his opinion wrong all along. Hiccup one considers weak. One considers Hiccup untalented.

What points children's education that I learned from the movie How To Train Your Dragon?

  1. Some parents (and the environment) is too early stigmatize the child, the child is considered naughty, the child is considered lazy to learn, and so forth.
  2. Some parents consider children lazy learning, the child is not lazy but actually have a 'learning' own preferred
  3. Children can learn from anywhere, not just formal institutions such as 'training against the dragon', but also friends and environment
  4. More children learn not when 'swallow' teaching, but it is currently trying to produce works (remember the current process Hiccup create artificial tail)
  5. When a child is considered superior in some areas, some parents consider it necessary to follow in a contest / competition which is not necessarily preferred by children
  6. Kids should be encouraged to pursue his unique talent and not generic skills (which are considered important at the time) just to survive in the 'labor market'
  7. Not all parents, as fortunate as Hiccup's father, still have a moment to realize his error before it's too late, most recently his regret when growing up and does not become anything

So let's synchronize our students how, by learning to children .. ask her opinion, listen to, and talk about, because talent is not destiny.

Four Categories of Innovative Learning Model

Schoolash - A. Definition of Learning Model

In particular, the model is defined as a conceptual kernagka used as a guideline in conducting an activity. In another sense the model is also defined as goods or mock objects of the real thing, like a globe of the earth which is moddel where we are and live today.

In the next uraiaan, the term "model" is used to indicate the first sense as a conceptual framework. On the basis of these ideas, called "Learning Model" is a conceptual framework that describes a systematic procedure in organizing learning experiences to achieve specific learning goals. The learning model serves as a guide for instructional designers and teachers in planning and implementing learning activities (Udin: 2001). Thus, the learning activity is an activity that is arranged systematically.
As affirmed by Joyce and Weil (1986) that the essence of teaching or teaching adalam help students get ideas, skills, values, ways perfikir, a means to express themselves, and ways of learning how to learn. In fact, the final outcome or long-term outcomes of the learning process is - "the student's Increased capabilities to learn more easly and Effectively in the future", the students remind her ability to be able to learn more easily and more effectively in the future (Joyce and Weil , 1986: 1). Therefore, the learning process does not only have a descriptive meaning and currency of, but also meaningful prospective and future-oriented.

B. Categories of Innovative Learning Model

From the results of the study on various learning models that have been developed and tested by experts in education, Joyce and Weil (1986) classify learning models into four categories, which are:
Group information processing model.
Personal model group.
Social model group.
The group model of the system behavior.
Berkut is an explanation of the four innovative learning model.

B.1. Group Information Processing Model (The Information Processing Model)

The learning model of information processing is basically focused on the ways in strengthening internal impulses (coming from within) to understand the world by digging and coordinated the data sensed the problem and seek solutions. Some models are in this group gives the students a number of concepts, some are focused on concept formation and testing of hypotheses, and others focus on the development of creative abilities. Some models are deliberately designed to strengthen the ability of the public intellectual.

Figure 1.2. Learning Model of Information Processing
In general, much of this information processing model that can be applied to the learning objectives of various ages. Some models are included in this group are:
Pencapaiaan concept.
Thinking educative.
Exercise research.
Guiding early.
Memorisation.
Development of Intellect, and
Scientific research.

B.2. Models Group Personal (Personal Models)

It is recognized that human life ultimately lies in the consciousness of the individual. Humans developed a unique personality and see the world from a unique viewpoint anyway which is the result of experience and position. The general meaning is the result of individual agreements that have to live, work, and forming the family is together.
Personal model moved from the view of personhood or selfhood of the individual. Ditujuakn educational process in order to understand ourselves better, mimikul responsibility for education, and more creatively to achieve a better quality of life.
Group personal model focuses on the individual and seeks views on promoting productive independence so that people become more aware and responsible for its purpose. Learning models in this group are:
Teaching without direction.
Sinektiks.
Exercise consciousness.
Class meeting.

B.3. Models Group Social (Social Model)

It must be recognized that cooperation is one of the phenomena of life of the community. With cooperation, humans can generate and collect energy or energy brsama then desebut with synergy (Joyce and Weil: 1986).

Figure 1.3 Social Learning Model (Behavior Discussion)

Mdoel social group designed to take advantage of the phenomenon of cooperation. This model has been widely studied in order to test validity. David and Robert Johnson and colleagues (1974, 1981), examines the benefits of pengenggunaan corperative rewards or prizes are awarded on a collaboration, and cooperation task structure or the structure of cooperative task in a group activity. The result is quite convincing, it turns learning together can help a wide range of learning processes. However, this does not mean the social model can be used as such. The thing to note is synergy to provide benefits. Therefore, the social model is an important part of the overall learning process ririskiky. This social model group include:
Investigation group.
Play a role.
Jurisprudential research.
Laboratory exercises, and
Social science research.

B.4. Group System Model Behavior (Behavioral Systems Models)

The basis of this group is theoretical theories of social learning or social learning theories. This model is also known as a model of behavior modification or behavioral modification, behavioral therapy or behavioral therapy, and cybernetics or the cybernetics. Rationales of this model is a group communication system that corrects itself or self-correcting communication systems that modify the behavior in terms of how a task is run with the best.
Based on the concept of how a person responds to the task and feedback (feedback), psychologists, and Skinner (1953) have studied how to organize the structure of the task and feedback in order to provide convenience to the loss of a sense of fear in a person. How to learn to read and count, develop athletic and social skills, relieve anxiety and how to relax, and learn the skills of intellectual, social, and physical need for a pilot or astronaut. Therefore, the model focuses on the behavior or over-obsessed behavior, and methods as well as the tasks assigned in order to communicate success. Some models are included in this group are:

Complete learning.
Learning.
Learning self-control.
Exercise the development of skills and concepts, as well as
Intensive training.

DRAWING TECHNIQUES AND DYEING WITH CRAYON

Schoolash - Colleagues and gentlemen ... On this occasion I will discuss some simple basic technique which is a technique that I developed themselves by learning techniques that have been developed by experts in the art of children's drawings.

Drawing Techniques ...
1. Start out by finding the right concept and a rough idea of the final result of the image that will be created.
2. Begin drawing with the emphasis completion of the main picture, whereas we can add additional ornaments thereafter.
3. Use HB or 2B pencil to draw a sketch, with the start of field pencil under the canvas or media image.
4. Strive for when making a scratch picture, we do not press the pencil too hard. This is done so that scratches pencil us wrong and corrected when removed leave no trace grooves on us.It's media image will be very influential at least average sweep dye (crayon) us, because the curve will not be washed away, leaving a crayon white trace on the final result of our image, which will greatly affect the image quality.
5. Sketch that is so can be thickened by using a black colored pencils, markers or boardmarker small snowman. Aim the tip markers boardmarker not too thick, if we use markers boardmarker.
6. Sketch finished already can be colored with crayons.

Coloring Technique
In goal, coloring the sketch we've created is actually almost the same as coloring a picture supplied teacher in kindergarten, the END RESULT EXPECTED GOOD! (Yes right ??). But bagimana technique ?? let's discuss each step.
1. Start the coloring of the field of the top left of our drawing media
2. Make sure the crayon which we will use clean. If dirty can we clean up first using tissue paper.
3. Prepare other equipment such as brush, Tissue Paper, Scrabber, Markers.
4. If all these devices are ready, the next step is coloring ....

Step 1: Blocking
Namely the blocking phase of the image area with a particular color, usually preceded by blocking with light colors. Color selection is highly dependent on the part of the image we are going to paint. for example, we are going to paint part is the sky, the light colors that we choose should be light blue, yellow or white.

Step 2: Gradation
Namely a coloring stage on media that has terblock young color, with other colors in tune and in stages so that it becomes a beautiful color gradation. This is where the real focus of our staining and will determine the final result image that we created.

Step 3: Mixing
Ie a mixing stage gradation you created earlier with the colors that have been inscribed previously. there are 2 ways that are often carried out in this mixing process is a technique of linear and circular scratches. In use will produce different gradations. Surely placed on different images, so that one part of the image with another image part of his technique of mixing is not necessarily the same. Example: in the process of mixing the color of the sky image more suited to the technique of linear rather than circular.

Step 4: Finishing
Namely the refining stage color on the parts that are still not perfect, and adding accents like silhouette, shadow, etc.

Step 5: Scrabbing (sgraffito)
This stage is only an additional step that is not to be done, because at the 4th stage of the actual picture can say we've done. Scrabbing just a scrape stage / scraping part of a particular image by using scrabber (usually on any particular brand crayons included) or can be of our own making.

Thus a brief review images and coloring techniques that I can write. Hope it is useful.

Learning Mind Mapping Model

schoolash.blog - Mind Maps concept learning is a method invented by Tony Buzan. Femi Olivia (2008:11) He is the inventor of mind maps, brain chairman, founder of the Club of Experts (Brain Trust) and the club's Use Your Head (Use Your Head) and lovers of Mental Literacy.

This concept is based on the workings of our brains store information. The results show that our brain does not store information in the boxes are lined up neatly nerve cells but the cells were collected on a berbercabang nerve-branch which, when seen at a glance it will look like tree branches.

From these facts, we conclude if we also store information such as how the brain works, the better the information stored in the brain and the end result of course we will learn the process easier.
Mind mapping method is a method of learning by developing the thinking in all directions, capturing the thoughts of other points.

Femi Olivia (2008:11) explains that Mind Mapping can help children love learning. Because the notes are now more attractive and thus more easily memorized systematic and understandable.
Mind mapping to develop creative ways of thinking divergent thinking. Mind mapping is a very powerful organizational thinking. Mind mapping can be termed "Swiss Army Book Ptal".
Mind mapping is an easy way to put the information into the brain and retrieve information when needed.

Cognitive Development in Elementary School Kids

schoolash - Cognitive Development in Elementary School Kids
Every child will have cognitive development, which helps them master certain skills. From infancy, children will learn how to master certain cognitive skills like sitting, walking, talking, and other developmental milestones. The cognitive skills your child learns are directly related to their ability to solve problems. They will be able to perform math equations, read, write, and communicate with adults. Along with cognitive development comes social development, speech and language development, and motor skills development.

Like infants, elementary-aged children encounter developmental milestones. They develop certain skills within a designated time frame as other children their age. The skills they learn are in a sequential manner, meaning they need to understand numbers before they can perform a mathematical equation. Each milestone that your child develops builds upon the previous milestone they achieved. Up until age 8, a child's brain is considered a "super computer" because it is learning new skills at a rapid pace. Once they reach the age of 8, the skills they learn start to level off and it usually is a steady increase of new skills. Developmental charts help doctors predict when children will reach certain milestones. Your child's doctor will be able to discuss the typical time frame for reading skills to develop and improve and they can provide you with tips on how you can help your child's cognitive development.

Effect on Student Perceptions of Teachers on Student Motivation

schoolash.blog - Before discussing the effects of student perceptions about the competence of teachers to the motivation to learn, first in terms of the role of teachers in fostering motivation in students. According to Joni (in Alfiyah, 1998: 54) in accordance with teachers' job is as a facilitator and motivator and inspiration at the same time in the classroom.

This shows the importance of the role of teachers in students' motivation in learning. Teacher as facilitator, he should be able to provide various facilities guide, help, encouragement to students, in classroom teaching and learning activities. Giving instructions or directing how the learning so that students can learn easily, and provide encouragement that students need.

Teacher as a motivator, in teaching and learning must be motivating, passion, and passion to learn on students. Therefore, the task of the teacher as a motivator can actually be done to raise the motivation to learn. In this research effort to arouse students' motivation to learn one of them by applying a variety of teaching skills of teachers who mastered.

Character Education Concept

schoolash.blog - The education system in Indonesia in general is still focused on cognitive intelligence. It can be seen from the orientation of the existing schools are still busy with exams, starting from mid exam, final exam to exam. Plus daily exercises and homework problems to solve questions in the textbook which is usually not relevant to the daily lives of students.

Time for policy makers, educators, parents and the community constantly enrich the perception that the measure of success is not exclusively seen from the figures on achievement. School institutions should be a place that always creates experiences for students to build experience and form a superior character.

Definition of Character Education
Understanding the character according to the Ministry of Education Language Center is a "congenital, heart, soul, personality, character, behavior, personality, nature, character, temperament, character". Understanding Evaluation and Engineering of Learning

schoolash.blog -
1. Understanding Evaluation of Learning
According to Sudjana (1990:31) evaluation is "the process of granting or determine the value of the specified object based on a certain criteria". Meanwhile, according to Rush (1990:22) that are referred to the evaluation is "a systematic process to determine to what extent instructional goal can be achieved by the students".
From the above description then the evaluation contains two important aspects namely:
a. In the evaluation there is a systematic process to measure whether students can diagnose, select and complete a job.
b. Evaluation is used to measure, assess achievement of goals and the success of the work or effort of teachers.
Based on the understanding on the definition of evaluation and assessment are terms a broader meaning than the measurements. The evaluation includes a description of the behavior (behavior) students qualitatively and quantitatively and to conduct such assessments. While the size is only limited to the aspects of assessment that is fixed and quantitative.

Improved education of humanitarian values, morals, and religion that underlies human relationships.

Learning approach is not purely rote learning but with the approach that allows connecting human values in personality and behavior during the learning process. One strategy that can be applied learning is cooperative, integrated approach .. Learning has a range of not only helping students learn academic content and skills alone, but also train the learners in reaching the goals of social and humanitarian relations. Learning model is characterized by the presence of task structure that is contextual, structural goals, and reward structures (reward).

Learning to be

schooalsh.blog - Learning process that allows the birth of well-educated man with an independent attitude. Independence is the key to the formation of a sense of learning responsibility and confidence to develop independently. Attitude of confidence is born of self-understanding and recognition as appropriate.
Independent learning should be encouraged through the growth of self-motivation. Many learning approaches that can be applied in practice independence of learners, for example; sinektik approach, problems solving, process skills, discovery, inquiry, cooperative, and so on learning approach that prioritizes engagement of learners effectively. Closing learning approach is basically a social process, learners are assisted in performing the role as an observer associated with the problems faced.

Although the teacher can give the situation a problem, but in practice, learners seek, inquire, investigate and try to find yourself the things learned. Learners begin to think in terms of ability and experience of each logically. Strategy of inquiry learning is one alternative approach to learning that can be used in the learning process. Learning strategies emphasize process skills activities are centered on developing creativity of students learning. The application of process skills learning strategies can help teachers to deliver learning materials to create learning conditions that varied in the motivation of learners to learn more deeply, encouraging curiosity and motivate further to think creatively.

Learning to Do

schooalsh.blog - The process of learning with an emphasis so that learners appreciate the process of learning by doing something meaningful''''Active Learning. Learners have the opportunity to learn and practice to be able to master and have the basic competency standards required in him. The learning process is carried out to explore and discover information (information searching and exploring), process and information and make decisions (information processing and decision making skills), as well as creative problem solving (creative problem solving skills). According to Dewey that learning can be done by:

1). Learners learn by thinking creatively,
2). Process skills,
3). Problem solving approach,
4). Inquiry approach,
5). School programs should be integrated with community life, and
6). Guidance as part of teaching.

Some forms of Active Learning: Active learning activities carried out by independent activity, the students read their own material that will be discussed in class. Discussion (discussion) in the class with the assignment of making the article begins, do possing problems, and problem solving, active learning activities in this guide are given early (advance organizer) who referred to the discussion of instructional material, before the independent study carried out, thus enabling active learners both intellectually, motor and emotional. In granting the task, learners are required to formulate a new concept in the synthesis of the material that has been studied.

Learning to Know

schooalsh.blog - In the learning process through the application of this paradigm, learners will be able to understand and appreciate how knowledge can be obtained from a phenomenon found in the environment. Through this educational process started primary school s / d higher education, are expected to born generation who have the belief that man as the caliph of God on earth to manage and utilize nature. To condition an effective learning communities today, needed a clear understanding of "what" you need to know, "how to" get the science, 'why' of science need to know, "what" and "who" will make use of that knowledge . Learning to be directed at the learners know that they have knowledge of flexible, adaptable, value added and ready to wear is not ready to use.

The meaning of the school assignment

one by one...

A school is an institution designed for the teaching of students (or "pupils") under the supervision of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. The names for these schools vary by country (discussed in the Regional section below), but generally include primary school for young children and secondary school for teenagers who have completed primary education. An institution where higher education is taught, is commonly called a university college or university.

In addition to these core schools, students in a given country may also attend schools before and after primary and secondary education. Kindergarten or pre-school provide some schooling to very young children (typically ages 3–5). University, vocational school, college or seminary may be available after secondary school. A school may also be dedicated to one particular field, such as a school of economics or a school of dance. Alternative schools may provide nontraditional curriculum and methods.
